At our interview desk today, we have Metehan Karci, our dedicated Growth Manager at Subul. Metehan is a dynamic professional, driven by a passion for developing innovative growth strategies and helping Subul reach new heights. To get to know him better, we invited him to our interview to learn more about what motivates him, his career goals, and his vision for the future of Subul.
Subul: Can you introduce yourself, What is your professional background, and what led you to pursue a career in growth management?
Metehan: This is Metehan; I live in Istanbul. I graduated from Law School, and I have a master’s degree in philosophy. I have 4 years of experience with sales and 2 years in legal.
The volunteer organization I was a part of during my university years, the sales and growth roles I took on in projects where I worked on women's rights in Egypt and animal rights in Romania, helped me discover that my real passion was sales and growth.
Subul: How did you become part of the Subul team? Tell us a little about your role as Growth Manager at Subul?
Metehan: I was looking for a place to work on something worthwhile. While doing research, I came across Subul and realized that I couldn't find anything more valuable than Social Impact. I decided that it was better to start fresh here than to take a senior position at any other company.
My role here is simply to develop growth and implement an effective sales strategy. Identify new markets, opportunities, and potential partnerships and drive revenue growth.
Subul: What does a typical day as a Growth Manager look like for you?
Metehan: A typical day as a Growth Manager involves a mix of strategic planning and hands-on tasks. I usually start by reviewing performance metrics and analyzing data to spot growth opportunities. Then, I work on planning and optimizing marketing campaigns, customer outreach, and lead generation. I often collaborate with other teams to align efforts and create growth strategies. A good part of my day is also spent engaging with clients, gathering feedback, and finding ways to enhance partnerships. Plus, I track ongoing projects to ensure we're meeting targets.
Subul: What do you enjoy most about working with the Subul team?
Metehan: What I enjoy most about working with the Subul team is the shared sense of purpose and mission. Everyone is genuinely dedicated to making a positive impact by helping organizations connect with talented individuals from refugee and disadvantaged communities. The passion, collaboration, and support across the team create a motivating environment. It feels really rewarding to be part of something that not only drives business growth but also makes a real difference in people’s lives.
Subul: How do you stay up-to-date with the latest trends and innovations in growth marketing?
Metehan: I stay up-to-date with the latest trends and innovations in growth marketing by regularly reading industry blogs, and following trends on platforms like LinkedIn and Twitter. I also try to attend webinars, conferences, and networking events whenever possible. Case studies from successful companies offer great insights too. Beyond that, I experiment with new tools and strategies in my work, which helps me stay hands-on with emerging trends and innovations.
Subul: How do you feel being a part of the Subul mission?
Metehan: It feels incredibly fulfilling. It’s motivating to be part of a team that’s not only focused on business success but also on creating positive social impact. This alignment between personal values and professional goals makes the experience both rewarding and inspiring.
Subul: As humans, we have our values. Which is yours?
Metehan: My core values revolve around empathy, integrity, transparency, and professionalism. I believe in understanding and connecting with others to foster compassion and create a positive impact. Integrity is key, as I strive to be honest, transparent, and reliable in all my actions. Transparency and open communication help build trust and collaboration, while professionalism ensures I maintain high standards of respect, responsibility, and accountability in everything I do.
Subul: What’s your favorite quote that you always come back to?
Metehan: "The biggest battle is the battle of the mind." - Atatürk. This quote resonates with me because it emphasizes the importance of critical thinking, education, and self-awareness in driving progress and transformation. It reminds me that true change begins with our mindset and beliefs, inspiring me to continually challenge my thoughts and strive for personal and collective growth.
Subul: If you could have any superpower to help with your work, what would it be and why?
Metehan: Of course, it would be the power of persuasion :). This ability would help me effectively communicate ideas, inspire collaboration, and motivate others to embrace change. With persuasive power, I could build strong relationships and drive meaningful impact in my work, making it easier to overcome challenges and support innovative initiatives.
Subul: What advice would you give to someone aspiring to work in growth management?
